The -93T/G LPL Promoter Polymorphism Is Associated With Lower Third-Trimester Triglycerides in Pregnant African American Women.

The article presents a study that investigated whether the triglyceride-lowering effect of -93T/G lipoprotein lipase (LPL) promoter polymorphism is observed in African Americans during pregnancy. Topics discussed include hypertriglyceridemia as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease and several pregnancy complications as well as genotyping being performed on woemn with uncomplicated pregnancies.
