Abstract
- The fact that Córdoba was the main town in Tucumán made possible that public writing was more or less frequent. Its importance achieved by the intermittent residence of the governor, bishop and ecclesiastical council (permanent since 1699), university, council seminary, female monasteries, convents of the five religious orders and the provincial father of the Jesuits built a communication stance formed by a complex system of signs and symbols. Writing served the civil and ecclesiastical authorities to manifest themselves by means of several roles such as memory, indications, propaganda, exaltation of the faith, the legitimation of power and others.
