Abstract

The article discusses a study that investigated the impact of the drug cyclosporine on patients with acute myocardial infarction. Under this study, 970 patients with an acute anterior ST-segment elevation myocardial infraction (STEMI) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) were given either a bolus injection of cyclosporine or matching placebo. Findings on patient outcomes and adverse events such as death, worsening heart failure and adverse left ventricular remodeling are tackled.
