The article discusses research concerning the immunobiology of insects particularly on the Danaus genutia (lepidoptera: nymphalidae). An overview on the high alkaloid content that milkweed butterfly possessed as well as their abundance and attractive coloration, is provided. Also mentioned is the hemocyte efficiency of Danaus genutia larvae against the common gram negative bacteria E. coli.
