Abstract
- The development of mobile haptics and multimodal designs has been strongly limited by the lack of enabling actuator technologies. This paper presents the properties of an electrostrive actuator technology for haptic feedback. By carefully tailoring material properties and actuator designing which can be integrating in devices, this technology should provide a realistic possibility of haptic design with considerable latitude. Haptic characteristics are described and realized and their impact on haptic design is discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
