Abstract

Discusses the calculation of model carbon star atmospheres and synthetic spectra using HCN/HNC vibration rotation line list of Harris et al. Repeat of calculations using only HCN lines; Indication that HCM has a significant effect upon the temperature, density and optical depth of a stellar atmosphere; Attempt to fit synthetic spectra in the 2.7 to 4.0 micrometer region to observed ISO spectra of carbon stars WZ Cas and TX Psc.
