Abstract

Tha article discusses a study related to DNA binding in vitro and in vivo in High mobility group protein 1(Hmo1). Topics disucsses include , its association with the promoters of ribosomal protein genes (RPGs) to direct accurate transcriptional initiation, indentification of a number of mutations in Hmo1 that impair DNA binding activity in vivo and in vitro using a genetic screen and a pivotal role in DNA binding displayed by the box A domain by further characterization of Hmo1 mutants.
