Abstract
- The article focuses on the journal's Commission on Global Surgery which emphasizes health-care delivery and management; economics and finance; and information management. It mentions message of the commission which include need of 143 million additional surgical procedures in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs), health expenditure due to surgery and anaesthesia, and affordable surgical services for LMICs.
