Abstract
- The article discusses a trend in the field of science during the early 21st century in which research papers feature an increasing number of co-authors. According to the article, the growth of co-authors is partly a result of the more complex nature of scientific experiments and the significance of authorship of peer-reviewed research in hiring practices. The article also discusses the alphabetization of authorship, which became a benefit for French particle physicist Georges Aad.
