Abstract
- The article reports on the decision of the High Court of Australia in the court case 'D'Arcy v Myriad Genetics Inc.' in which the court the examine the patentability of isolated genetic sequences and laid scrutiny to the application. Topics discussed include decision of the court in the case 'National Research Development Corporation v Commissioner of Patents,' laws preventing medical practitioners from infringing the patent, and need of reform in laws for patentability.
