Abstract

The article states that falling commodities prices, particularly in energy and metals, and low demand for commodities in China, sent several currencies such as those in Australia, Canada, and Norway on significant declines as of the end of July 2015. According to the article, the Canadian dollar was particularly hurt due to Canada's reliance on the energy industry and a decision by the central bank the Bank of Canada to cut interest rates. The article also discusses the policies of the central bank of Norway and the Australian central bank the Reserve Bank of Australia.
