Research and Applications of AE on Advanced Composites.

This paper reviews progress in acoustic emission (AE) research and its applications to high performance composite materials and structures. The achievement and inadequacy in understanding of AE from composites are examined along with cases of successful usage in commercial and aerospace fields, taking into account limitations due to high attenuation and anisotropy.
