Abstract

An essay on man's need to document their existence, and the use of selfie-sticks to take selfies or self-portraits. It discusses the culture obsessed with recording one's presence wherever they go, emergence of self-stick to have made the practice more self-indulgent, and the use of images to promote oneself in social networks instead of producing an image to be preserved for posterity. The author notes that preservation of every move is linked to the trend of archive fever.
