Abstract
- The article states that the California legislature failed to pass legislation advanced by California state senator Mark Leno that would have extended the state's smoking ban to electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) in July 2015. According to the article, some pointed to the growing influence of the e-cigarette industry, which lobbied against the bill, to the bill's defeat. The article also discusses a regulatory rule concerning e-cigarettes proposed by the U.S. agency the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The article also discusses taxation of e-cigarettes.
