Abstract

The authors discuss the impact of unemployment of newly graduated nurses on the quality of healthcare and the nursing profession in Sydney, New South Wales. The authors mention that the failure of new nurse graduates to get employment is detrimental not only to individuals and the communities where they live but also on the nursing profession. Moreover, they state the need for the sector to find ways to support new nursing graduates who failed to obtain jobs immediately.
