Abstract
- Reports on the findings of a qualitative study aimed to understand the coping experiences of Chinese parents with children diagnosed as having cancer. Addition of knowledge to the coping experience of Chinese parents at the treatment phase of their child’s illness; Provision of information to health care professionals in offering culturally relevant care to this group of clients, Experiment procedure; Emergence of four themes from the data describing parents’ coping experiences namely emotional reactions, establish meaning of the situation, confront the reality and identify alternative perspectives; Identification of the informants’ initial emotional reactions to the diagnosis.
