Abstract
- The author emphasizes the need for emergency nurses to stand their ground when it comes to ensuring that they act in their patients' best interests. The author cited her and other nurses' experience on the lack of central lines in ward areas. She argued that nurses should insist on central line insertion and avoid administering inotropes peripherally. She added that nurses must stand their ground in maintaining standards of care and they must refuse to administer drugs via incorrect routes.
