Abstract

The author focuses on nursing education. He says that there is a disconnect between the virtues of a liberal education and the requirements for competent nurses to work in the health services sector which can be seen in the curriculum. He discusses challenges facing curriculum in Great Britain and the effect of the transfer of nursing education to the higher education sector in the country. He says that nursing can flourish in a setting with few medical doctors, Western medical models, and large jospitals.
