Abstract
- The author describes the rationale for a policy that all research articles in journal would require evidence of Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval or exemption prior to publication. He highlights the importance of human subject research protection as per National Research Act of 1974, which includes informed consent; equitable selection of research subjects, and beneficence. He offers information on the types of studies/articles that will require IRB approval, especially case reports.
