Abstract

The article discusses the entry of the Romans into the Tweed Valley, Scotland along the Tweed river. It mentions the start of the Roman settlement in the fourth century in north of the Lyne Water at Hallyne, Peebles, Scotland. Also mentioned is the Roman architecture including the Lyne church and the Antonine fort .The description and history of the Newstead Roman fort, Trimontium which is the third largest permanent Roman site in Scotland is given.
