Balancing Beneficence and Autonomy.

In this article, the authors comment on a case of the patient Huggins who was suffering from alcohol use disorder (AUD). Topics discussed include importance of patient autonomy and physician beneficence in the course of treatment, monitoring of patient and providing medication for alcohol withdrawal, and prevention of alcohol withdrawal syndrome (AWS) by prescription of beer.
