Abstract

The article discusses research that determined an imprinted DNA methylation pattern in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS). Topics discussed include detection of significant global hypomethylation in those with longstanding RA compared to patients with early RA, identification of 20,776 differentially methylated loci in longstanding RA, and identification in longstanding RA of five potentially enriched pathways with hypomethylated genes.
