Abstract

The article focuses on a study on plasma and electrolyte changes seen in exercising humans after ingestion if pickle juice. It mentions effects of pickle juice on plasma sodium concentration, plasma potassium concentration, plasma osmolality and plasma volume. It reports that ingestion of two boluses of pickle juice do not alter the different variables of blood plasma with time. It further states that hyperkalemia does not occur when pickle juice is ingested during exercise session.
