Abstract
- The article presents the study which examined the effect of the paediatric early warning systems (PEWS) on internal emergency admissions to the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in a tertiary care children's hospital. The data used in the study was collected from the 2002 National Paediatric Intensive Care Audit Network (PICANet) database in Great Britain and Ireland. Based on the results, PEWS enhanced the clinical outcomes of patients.
