Abstract
- Focuses on the declining influence of the Western nations in world affairs. Views that the United States is no longer the control-tower of the world; Views that the great land-mass of Eastern Europe and Asia, with its extension into Africa calls the tune in world affairs; Comments that the first world war was in effect a European civil war with worldwide consequences which included the stimulation of industrial development in many Asian countries, of anti-foreign feeling in China and of Indian nationalism, and the birth of Arab nationalism; Lack of faith in reason among the intellectuals and the political thinkers of the English-speaking world.
