Abstract
- The article discusses tallest active volcano in Nicaragua and unspoiled rainforest around the San Juan River that is listed as United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Biosphere Reserves dealing with the environmental conditions and economic changes in the country. Topics include poverty in Nicaragua, tourism prospects, and environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) by the government. Also discussed is the impacts on Hurricane Mitch in Central America.
