Abstract

The article looks at the Fédération internationale de football association (FIFA) soccer governing body, discussing the seeming contradiction between the organization's allegedly pervasive corruption and the absence of any suggestion of misconduct in its financial audits over the past 16 years, conducted by accounting firm KPMG. The recent indictment of several FIFA officials on U.S. corruption and racketeering charges is cited.
