Texas State Senate GOP Expected To Unveil Initial Redistricting Proposals.

Texas state Senate Republicans are expected to unveil their initial proposals to overhaul Texas congressional district lines, according to the nonpartisan Web Site www.quorumreport.com. The plan reportedly would create an additional Hispanic-opportunity district in south Texas, plus an open seat that includes Midland and San Angelo. Lieutenant Governor, David Dewhurst does not expect the Senate Jurisprudence Committee to complete its plan before Saturday. The special session to deal with redistricting expires on July 29.
