The article discusses the acquisition of ethnological collection by the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology's American Section from groups who inhabit the Amur River delta. Topics discussed include use of fish skin to create the articles of clothing by Amur delta people, a mission sent by the museum to China and Siberia for the collection of commercial intelligence and samples of raw materials and appointment of Franz Boas to the Jessup North Pacific Expedition.
