Abstract

The article focuses on a virus which destroys disease-causing bacteria but is harmless to humans and animals and also discusses its uses to reduce antibiotics use in the pig industry. It informs that University of Leicester, scientists are working to develop friendly viruses known as phages to treat illnesses such as salmonella. It presents the views of Martha Clokie, professor of Microbiology.
