Abstract: The article presents the authors' reply to a letter from D. Meyre regarding their systematic review and meta-analysis on the associations of variants of proprotein convertase subtilisine/kexin type I gene (PCSKI) with obesity. The reply addresses Meyre's criticisms of what he perceives as errors in the paper including an assertion that meta-analysis included 2 overlapping cohorts and suggestion that the analysis was underpowered to find significant association of rs632 with body mass index.
