Abstract
- The article discusses relations between Israel and the Kurdish people. Topics include connections between the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) organization in Iraq and Kurdish Jews in Israel, political aspects of Israeli-Kurdish ties during the Baath regime era in Iraq, and tensions between the militant group Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Turkey and Israel. Comparisons between Zionism and Kurdish nationalism are addressed. Allegations that PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan holds anti-Semitic views are addressed in light of his anti-Zionist statements. Purported Israeli military training of Kurdish peshmerga militants is discussed.
