Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the novel antagonists of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs)-proteins from venoms of Viperidae snakes. Topics include the ability of polypeptides to interact with nAChRs, which was estimated by the suppression of the response to agonist, the procedure of isolation of neurons, voltage-clamp technique and the fractionation of the venom obtained from the specimen collected from South Africa.
