Abstract

The article examines the clinical importance of the death drive concept. The relationship between destructive force and infantile trauma, the insight of psychoanalyst Melanie Klein on the conflict between love and hate and the essay "Beyond the Pleasure Principle" by neurologist Sigmund Freud are also discussed.
