Abstract

Objective To investigate the prevalence and related risk factors of female stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in Yan'an city. Methods All the investigated women were randomly interviewed with questionnaires. Results The total number of women investigated was 623 and valid questionnaires number was 589 (94.5%). The incidence of urinary incontinence was 35.65% and SUI was 21.73%. The incidence of SUI was associated with factors such as age, pregnancies, drinking and education level, and the severity was associated with age, body mass index and education level. Conclusion The incidence of SUI in Yan'an city is relatively higher. Life style and education level are more important for the female health. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
