Abstract

This article addresses the theme of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from a critical perspective, understanding it as part of a political discourse generated in the context of a globalized neoliberalism that assigns the company, the role of hegemonic agent of development. Likewise, we present the case of companies that have been internationally recognized as socially responsible, and the social, political and environmental consequences of their practices, are analyzed. We assert that in the context of the so-called information society, the ultra-liberalized capitalism is accompanied by a geopolitical appropriation and distribution of resources and global conflicts, which involves the restoration of a global extractivist neo-feudalism. In that tone, in this work, the emergence of ISO 26000:2010 as a discursive policy that contributes to the legitimization of the geopolitical system will be analyzed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
