Abstract

First I explore how far and in what way sexuality is considered within the theoretical framework and in key texts of the Person-Centered Approach. This is followed by a characterization of the nature of sexuality from a phenomenological perspective. After examining “functioning sexuality” and so-called sexual disorders and aetiological considerations the relevance of sexuality in the therapeutic practice is discussed, including reflections on sexualization and physical touch in the therapy session. The paper concludes with a few propositions concerning the consideration of sexuality within the person-centered framework. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
