The article offers information on the Manitoba Institute of the Deaf and Dumb (MIDD) located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Topics include the work of Duncan Wendell McDermid, the history of education for the deaf in Canada, and its transition from funding from private and religious charities to public funds.
