Abstract

The author looks at advances in diagnostic and experimental technologies for the investigation of the airborne transmission pathway. These include molecular detection methods, the availability of published studies that describe the airborne characteristics for a few pathogens, and the use of experimental visualization methods to examine the human thermal plume.
