Abstract

The article discusses fraudulent transactions involving the Apple Pay electronic payment system from smartphone maker Apple Inc. Perpetrators are entering data from stolen credit cards into iPhone smartphones equipped with Apple Pay and proceeding to make purchases, often from Apple's own retail stores. Banks are trying to stem the fraud by imposing more stern verification procedures for credit cards used with Apple Pay.
