Abstract

The authors discuss the implications for clinical practice in the implementation of soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase receptor-1 and placental growth factor ratio for diagnosis and prediction of pre-eclampsia (PE) in singleton pregnancy. It outlines the consensus statements in applying risks for developing PE algorithm in women with signs and symptoms of PE and asymptomatic women at high risk of developing PE. It concludes that the ratio has not been incorporated into official guidelines.
