Jahrestagung 2014 der DMG in Hannover.

The annual convention is the most important event of the German Society of Mechanical Engineering (DMG) in the course of a year. This year the key issue of the convention was "20 years of railway reform - retrospect and preview". During the presentation of speeches different experts of public rail transport presented papers on the main topic seen from various points of view such as: "from the customer, from the DB AG, from the passenger, from the manufacturer and finally from the European point of view". In a following panel discussion the subject has been immersed. Two Beuth Innovation Awards were awarded to two young engineers, Stefan von Mach and Jochen Greiner, for excellent diploma thesis on rail vehicle subjects. A festive dinner with the awarding of the "Beuth Medal of Honour" to Professor Dr. Rolf Schraut, an engineer and manager who rendered outstanding services to the railway technique, ended the convention.
