Abstract
- The article reports that retailer Costco Wholesale Corp. and financial firm American Express Co. (Amex) will end their agreement under which Amex credit cards were the only ones accepted at Costco outlets. Amex chief executive Ken Chenault said his company was unable to reach agreement on an economically sensible renewal of its current pact with Costco. Banking companies J. P. Morgan Chase & Co. and Citigroup Inc. are both seeking to offer co-branded credit cards with Costco.
