Abstract
- The article looks at the search for extraterrestrial life, noting the assumption that water is a likely necessary condition, reporting on the discovery of water underneath layers of ice on several bodies in the solar system including Jupiter moons Europe and Ganymede and Saturn moon Enceladus, and discussing the work of planetary scientist Louise Prockter. Topics include a U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) proposal for a mission to Europa.
