Abstract

The self-compacting concrete have particularities of compositions compared to vibrate concretes, among these peculiarities a high volume of fines and a high volume of paste which is also responsible for their rheological behavior. In addition, the texture very complex of self-compacting concrete in the hardened state is the subject of many researches. This texture is governed by the hardened cement paste which is a porous material. In this work, we focus, for a part in the study, of the effect of the limestone fillers on the fluidity of self compacting pastes and also the effect of limestone fillers on the evolution of porosity. An experimental program was conducted over self compacting pastes where limestone fillers have been substituted in blended cement, to study their effect on porosity and pore distribution of these pastes at 7days, 28days and 90 days using the mercury porosimeter. The results show that the substitution of cement by limestone fillers seems to lead to a reduction in capillary porosity of selfcompacting pastes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
