Oxidation of ferrocenylboric acid with hydrogen peroxide in organic and aqueous media.

Oxidation of ferrocenylboric acid with hydrogen peroxide in organic solvents and in aqueous solutions in the presence and in the absence of acids and bases has been investigated by electron absorption spectroscopy. Kinetics of FcB(OH) oxidation in neutral, acidic, and basic media has been studied; possible mechanisms of the reactions accounting for the substituent acting as the Lewis-type acidic center have been suggested.
