Abstract

The article presents the study which examined the possible intervention strategies against type reaction (T1R) of leprosy. It claims that TIR occurs more often in such types of leprosy as lepromatous leprosy (LL), borderline tubercoloid (BT), and borderline lepromatous (BL). The study focused on interleukin-3 (CD123) cell populations and the epithelioid-cell phenotype in TIR skin lesions in patients with BL and LL.
