Abstract
- The article discusses a growing tendency among activist investors to target even companies whose share prices are outperforming the broader market. Particular attention is given to Trian Fund Management LP's plans to wage a proxy fight to get four representatives including Trian head Nelson Peltz on the board of industrial company DuPont Co. Trian wants to split DuPont up into three companies. DuPont's stock has returned 190.5% since Ellen Kullman became chief executive in 2009.
