Abstract

In this article the author focuses on the potential of Great Britain's beef industry and compares it with the management practices of the U.S. beef industry. It states that British carcass grading system is outdated and is focused on showy animals instead of eating animals which is costing the quality of meat. It presents the views of Richard Pennock, Yorkshire Agricultural Society's Nuffield Scholar, on management practices in industry including breeding, scanning methods and efficiency.
