Abstract

Massive hemorrhage is a common complication in multiple clinical scenarios. Such as traumatic injury, where bleeding is responsible for almost 50% of deaths occurring within the first 24 hours after injury and up to 80% of these deaths occur in the perioperative period. The use of blood products before and after a massive hemorrhage is a priority in this scenario. Since 25% of all deaths are related to coagulopathy, uncontrolled bleeding may be preventable. Therefore, treatment of coagulopathy and hemostatic control is necessary to reduce mortality due to exsanguination. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
